Bike Lane Submissions
EWV244
myrtle edwards park, Seattle, WA
To be honest, I almost didn’t post this. This white van that was driving toward me on the left (wrong) side of the dedicated bike path was a King County Parks van #EWV244. Sure she was probably doing something official, but couldn’t she have parked in a parking lot and then used a cart, or walked?
Happy Hooker
Elliott Bay park, Seattle, WA
This car wasn’t technically in the bikeway when I took this photo. It is parked very close. The odd thing is that there are no roads to this shop, the Happy Hooker. So it must have driven on the dedicated bike lane to get there.
Penske Rental Truck
S Dearborn St and Maynard Ave S, Seattle, WA
Blocking most of the Westbound bike lane on S Dearborn St, at Maynard Ave S. Today (July 31, 2008) at about 8:45am.
Truck Parked Wrong Way, Covering Trail
NE 40th ST and Brooklyn Ave NE, Seattle, WA
This Truck was parked the wrong way on a two lane street, covering the bike trail and forcing both cars and bikes to go around it into the other lane, facing traffic. It couldn't have been more wrong.
covering entire burke gilman trail
burke gilman trail, northlake way, Seattle, WA
A taxi was parked, entirely, on the burke gilman trail, which is completely illegal for cars to be on. Airport Taxi #36, today, July 28th around noon. It was a little ridiculous, for such a heavy use trail.
Also, the google map below is wrong. The burke gilman trail goes right to the north side of Northlake Way, and doesn't run through gas works park. You can see the true route here:

Truck at the fuelling station
8th and leary, Seattle, WA
This truck was so far out in the road that it was blocking the bike land and a lane of regular traffic. The truck wasn’t making a delivery, but fuelling up with diesel. These bike lanes are new/ not even fully painted, but will connect to the Burke-Gilman Trail. I didn’t get a chance to take a good photo of the two plates on the truck or trailers.
Not quite in the parking spot
nw 64th and 8th, Seattle, WA
This van wasn’t quite against the curb filling the bike lane in back. This was the middle of the day, but at rush hour it can get quite crowded here.
Independence Day
Meridian Ave N and N Northlake Way, Seattle, WA
During the Independence Day, this mother was parked in bike lane forcing us to go around. She seemed upset that i stopped to take her picture.
WSU Cougar drops off UW Husky
Brooklyn Ave NE and NW Pacific St, Seattle, WA
This blue car with "Cougar" plates parked in front of the no parking sign in the bike lane heading south to drop off the passenger at the University of Washington. He drove away heading east on NE 38th St when i got out my camera.
taxi parked on the Burke-Gilman trail
N Northlake Place and N Northlake Way, Seattle, WA
Durring the Fremont Fair/ Solstice Parade, this yellow cab was parked on the foot path and the bike lane. Forcing us to ride on the wrong side of the street to get around. This was after the King County driver tried to get him to move.
Moving truck parked in the bike lane
N 34th St and Fremont Ave, Seattle, WA
Forces cyclists to exit the special bike lane and go the wrong way on a one-way street.
